#Minecraft U was half-assed so #Nintendo wouldn’t have the superior version

Well after years of waiting, the gamer gods have finally shown mercy and allowed the mighty indie sandbox to make its way to the Wii U. It goes without saying, the news of Minecraft hitting Nintendo’s latest and greatest platform seemed to come out of nowhere and certainly made a lot of people happy across the globe, unfortunately the finished product left a lot to be desired.

With so much time passing one would think a decent port of Minecraft would’ve actually showed up that offered some form of platform specific gameplay, but you would be mistaken. To add insult to injury, the game is priced at $30.00 and offers absolutely nothing new to justify the top shelf price tag.  Even NintendoLife rated Minecraft U a mere 1 point higher than the soulless clone known as Cube Life: Island Survival which is priced around 5 bucks.

Considering the price, launch date and the current state of the title, some claim it was nothing more than a cash grab, rushed to the market in order to disrupt UCraft’s launch.. What do you think of Minecraft for Wii U, are you enjoying it or do you feel it was a lackluster port by a multi-billion dollar company aimed to garner your holiday savings?

As always, thanks for reading and be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

I think the game simply isn’t done yet. Note that the game isnt even out on disc yet!

It would be nice but personally I think this is as good as it gets. I hope I’m wrong but time will tell!

      Thanks for comments!

Yeah, this game is unfinished, they wanted the holyday sales so they announced and in two weeks they launched, not even the “exclusive content” is ready yet,if someone over here wants to buy it my suggestion is to wait for the physical copy.

Hey Nintendo Nuggets,it’s unreleated but now almost everytime I access the site I keep geting virus messages, and it’s almost impossible to access on smartphone without geting these unwanted pop-ups, please fix these…

We will investigate this issue. Thanks for bring it to my attention!

We can’t seem to find any information specifying “Exclusive Content” would be created. The only information I could find was a speculation piece written by NintendoEnthusiast that talked about the impact it could have.

While there’s no denying that it would be a good idea, we don’t believe it will happen or atleast not on the Wii U version. NX might be a different story but time will tell.

      Thanks for comments

Didn’t they said, when this game was announced, that Mojang were working with Nintendo for new content?

        • NintendoNuggets

I don’t think so, I think Nintendo simply welcomed the idea in theory, however, i do not believe a formal agreement was made.

The sad thing is many fans were whining about having Minecraft on the CubeLife Miiverse. It is essentially a port of the PS3/360 version. And fans are lapping it up. The only real benefit from Wii U Minecraft is sharing art on the Miiverse.

It’s the sort of attitude that puts me off machines like PS4/X1. Don’t have to make much of an effort as millions are already screaming for it. Taking nothing away from some excellent titles hidden away in the shelves of PS4/X1.

Wii U could easily offer a superior version of Minecraft. The other versions miss the benefits of the mouse. Coping, pasting and so on. Imagine utilising mouse like controls using the Wii U pad.
Well, hopefully this could be U-Craft’s chance to capitalise.

You have a touch pad and a block building game. This is how U-Craft uses it.

That sounds interesting and all…but when does Ucraft come out? It´s nearly september now :(

Sadly I don’t think we’ll see UCraft now.
Had the finished product been released say a year ago, I bet it would be a surprise hit.
Even if it does show up (which I doubt), I think it’s lost it’s window of getting recognised.

A shame as I felt the game had so much potential.
